Mediahuis wants its journalism to have a positive impact on people and society. Millions of people seek out our journalism every day, in search of information, insight and inspiration. At a time when fake news is everywhere, independent, pluralistic journalism is more important than ever. We at Mediahuis believe that unconditionally and will continue to invest in achieving it.
This mission translates into a number of projects, such as the Mediahuis Festival of Journalism and the creation of the Pluralis investment fund.
Each year, Mediahuis organises the Festival of Journalism, an inspiring day for around 250 journalists featuring international speakers as well as in-house experts on topics such as podcasting and data. The event offers opportunities for knowledge sharing, collaboration and, of course, plenty of networking.
Our mission to make a positive contribution to people and society through our journalism is what drove us to co-found Pluralis. This investment fund aims to safeguard independent journalism and media pluralism in European countries where these values can no longer be taken for granted. Learn more about Pluralis.

Several Mediahuis titles have joined The Trust Project, a global journalism network dedicated to transparency, integrity and trust in news media. This means our news brands are now part of a network of over 300 news organisations actively committed to trustworthy reporting and openness about their practices. The initiative was founded in 2014 by American journalist Sally Lehrman and provides newsrooms around the world with a shared framework for responsible and verifiable journalism.

In times of crisis and conflict, independent journalism is crucial. Mediahuis believes that, unconditionally. In addition to our own journalists reporting extensively on the war, not only here but in difficult conditions on the ground, Mediahuis was looking for an impactful way to ensure that Ukrainian journalists can continue to fulfil their social mission and report independently.
